Summary
THE TRUTH WILL ENDURE. IT MUST.
But our history is in danger of being rewritten by the progressive left and the “woke” mob.
In PROFILES IN FREEDOM: HEROES WHO SHAPED AMERICA , Carl Higbie shines a light on the real heros of American history.
Ronald Reagan warned in his 1989 farewell address: “If we forget what we did, we won’t know who we are. I’m warning of an eradication of the American memory that could result, ultimately, in an erosion of the American spirit.”
The “woke” mob tries to silence voices of reason. They try to remeasure by their liberal, progressive standards our historical heroes who made an impact on our country. They must redefine everything to fit their narrative. They don’t teach our actual history because they hope that by ignoring it, we will forget, for when it’s forgotten, it is effectively erased. But people should not be erased, nor should our history. We should learn from it and grow, always climbing higher than the previous generation.
Carl Higbie, a former Navy SEAL and national news anchor of Carl Higbie Frontline on Newsmax TV, believes in REAL America and the need to remember the heroes who made this country great. In Profiles in Freedom, he reintroduces some of the Americans who made this great country what it is today. People such as:
- William Penn, Ben Franklin, and George Washington
- William Clark, Samuel Colt, and Ulysses S. Grant
- Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony,
- and George Washington Carver
- And more
To simply cancel others, especially our nation’s history and the people who made this nation great, is cowardice. It is small-minded thinking. And it is futile. After all, to forget history is to repeat it. The problem is that it takes an awfully long time to get back to a point of strength.
Those who helped build this country lived and died for their ideals so that we could have a better life. The wise will not only build onto that, but they will teach their children to do the same.
“As you journey through the histories of these American heroes, my sincere hope is that you are encouraged, revitalized, and made more confident. Every history you read is really your own history, no matter when you came to this great country. We are in this together.”—from the foreword by U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin
Foreword
Foreword by Senator Markwayne Mullin to PROFILES IN FREEDOM: HEROES WHO SHAPED AMERICA by Carl Higbie
Our history is trying to be rewritten. Schools teach kids to be ashamed of America’s past rather than to celebrate it. Now, success is greed, strength is not inclusive, and current generations should apologize for the actions of their ancestors.
The facts of course cannot be changed, but that doesn’t stop the current trend to retell or simply delete what doesn’t fit the current progressive narrative.
Unamerican concepts are being woven into the fabric of our children, trying to indoctrinate our youth to think differently, which always means to think as they do. Their way, they demand, is the only way.
In many places, it’s already happening. New realities and woke agendas are taught to our children in schools, in movies, on TV, on social media, and in the news.
For example, the rise of communism in the 1900s, it’s no longer taught as a bad thing. What bankrupted societies and slaughtered millions upon millions of people is now accepted, promoted, and plastered everywhere as a good thing. The lie only works if people believe it.
Every generation feels it is smarter than the last, and we really should be, but that is no excuse to forget or cancel those in our past who helped make America into what it is today. Where they perfect? Of course not, but neither are you and neither am I.
America is great in part because of the struggles we have been through and our drive to always look for answers. We are a nation that thinks independently, that believes in opportunity, and takes action to achieve our dreams. We also live in a country that fosters that reality.
History should be taught as it happened and honor those who built the nation that has prospered so greatly. We must teach our children to emulate this success and learn from their blunders. That’s what history is for, if we have the guts to be real and learn.
Carl Higbie has the ability to walk you through history, to open your eyes, and to challenge you to greatness. As a former SEAL team operator, Carl is no stranger to getting to the root of a problem and being real.
As you journey through the histories of these American heroes, my sincere hope is that you are encouraged, revitalized, and made more confident. Every history you read is really your own history, no matter when you came to this great country,
We are in this together.
– U.S. Senator Mark Wayne “Markwayne” Mullin, R-OK
