Hungary of that time (1868-1914) resorted to a decisive offensive, organizing a violent Magyarization of non-Hungarian ethnic groups, using for this purpose, including the Church. In 1912, the Hungarian Greek Catholic bishopric for Magyarization was established, based in Hajdúborodóg, under conditions that Greek Catholicism is not a traditional Hungarian religion. Some 350,000 Hungarians Greek Catholics in Hungary today, historically speaking, are former Orthodox non-Hungarians, but Ruthenians and Romanians, who were Magyarized by non-Orthodox means, that is, through the Greek Catholic Church.

Nikolae Yuga (nacido en 1953) se graduó en la Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad de Bucarest. Defendió su doctorado en filosofía en la Universidad Babe¿ Bolaj en Cluj-Napoca. De 2003 a 2018, fue profesor en la Universidad Vasile Goldi¿ Occidental en Arad. Actualmente es investigador en el Instituto de Filosofía de la Academia Rumana.
