This thorough work is dedicated to one of the most interesting topics - traditional Old Believers' clothes. The Uymon Old Believers are a small group of Russian people, lost in the Altai Mountains, amazing in terms of the strength of their faith and the safety of their traditions. The book presents a short essay on the history of this group. The monograph describes the ethnocultural features of clothing - types and types of women's and men's clothing, as well as outerwear and shoes, and traces the transformations that have taken place in them. Elements of pre-Christian Slavic beliefs were reconstructed based on the study of technology. The work reveals the ethno-confessional specificity of Old Believers' costume, the sacral aspects of its existence, which are connected with the most important Christian values. The symbolic expression of the cross and prayer in an Old Believer costume is traced. The study was conducted on authentic ethnographic material and with a deep understanding of its specificity. The book is richly illustrated with original photographs and drawings of clothing. The work is written in accessible language and is of interest both to specialists and to a wide range of readers interested in Russian folk culture.
