The disorganized and unregulated urban expansion has caused environmental degradation along the southwest loop of the city of Campina Grande-PB, due to the removal of native vegetation and the removal of soil for construction. With this, this work aimed to study the environmental degradation around the southwest loop, for this we used Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems techniques. A spatial and temporal study of the environmental degradation in the whole area was also carried out, based on Landsat-5 satellite images for the years 1989 and 2007, and Landsat-8 satellite images for the year 2017, analyzing the dynamics of the degradation that occurred in the area over these years.
