Das Buch von Dana Schwartz handelt von Hazel Sinnett, die zwar viele Privilegien im Vergleich zu den Personengruppen aus niedrigerem Stand besitzt, jedoch dadurch auch sehr vielen Verpflichtungen und Erwartungen unterliegt. Diese lassen sich auch nicht mit ihrem Traum Chirurgin zu werden, vereinen. Als Leser begleiten wir Hazel bei ihrem Versuch sich ihren Traum zu verwirklichen und tauchen in ihre Welt ein. Der Schreibstil hat mir gut gefallen und auch die Handlung war erfrischend. Mal etwas anderes. Das fand ich sehr gelungen. Etwas unrealistisch fand ich jedoch, dass sie so viel Spielraum hatte, um öfters unbemerkt umherzuziehen oder bei ihren späteren Aktivitäten. Trotz allem fand ich die Handlung aber sehr spannend und hatte viel Spaß beim Lesen, da ich die Protagonistin und ihren Helfer Jack sehr sympathisch fand.
Zudem fand ich das Cover sehr schön. Cool ist auch, dass im Hardcover die Abbildung von einem Herzen eingeprägt ist.

Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie es im zweiten Teil weitergeht und freue mich schon darauf, Hazel bei ihren nächsten Abenteuern zu begleiten. Daher kann ich das Buch weiterempfehlen. Jedoch sollte einem bewusst sein, dass einige beschriebene Dinge physikalisch so nicht möglich sind. Wer das Genre Fantasy nicht so mag, wird vielleicht an manchen Stellen etwas enttäuscht werden.
