This book examines the ways in which a new public park can be designed next to a world heritage site. Those designs might be utilized as an interpretive tool to emphasise the significance of the heritage site. The ancient city of Erbil (Citadel), the ancient city of Damascus, and the ancient city of Aleppo (Citadel) are three world heritage sites recognised by Unesco, which have been taken as case studies. Different methods have been used throughout the book. From them: an interview with stakeholders, a questionnaire with locals, and observation of the site which makes the work demostrate the bigger image of the site. This book offers an appropriate design of landscape to reach the goals of heritage context.
