About the author

David Harrison is a chartered engineer and lecturer at Newcastle College University Centre. He started his career as an MoD apprentice, and over his thirty years of hands-on experience, he has seen the progression of manufacturing from lines of manual and semi-automatic metal cutting machines to computer numeric controlled machines and additive manufacturing.
