Dr. Rui Zhao has received a full professorship in the Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, China. Prof. Zhao is appointed as the head of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering. Prof. Zhao's current research in the field of sustainable engineering has focused on mathematical modeling and computational approaches, which is capable of providing mitigation strategies to limit environmental burden, as well as promote sustainable development. A significant proportion of his research is interdisciplinary study, while using a theory of system theory to identify and analyze environmental issues in order for better decision making in the area of low-carbon production and consumption. Prof. Zhao is acted as the principal investigator to undertake a number of projects, including the National Key Plan for Research and Development of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Sichuan Key Provincial Project, etc. Prof. Zhao has published 40 open literature publications as the first or corresponding author. Besides, Prof. Zhao is appointed as the associate editor for Journal "Energy & Environment" (SSCI indexed), "International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology" (SSCI indexed), the guest editor for Journal "Sustainability", and severed as the reviewers for several high quality journals.

Professor Yong Geng is a chair professor on Circular Economy and Industrial Ecology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.  His main research field covers industrial ecology, environment management, climate change, carbon emission accounting, and sustainable development. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed papers in international journals such as science, nature, nature climate change, nature communications, science advances, one earth, global environmental change, water research, and environmental science and technology.  In 2013, he received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars from the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He is Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professor of Ministry of Education.
