Topics covered include creating and refining research questions, planning research projects, ethical considerations for research, quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, data processing, data analysis, and how to write a successful grant application. Additional text

When I ventured to Madagascar in 1969, I took along a portable tape recorder, 35mm camera, and revered monograph as inspiration and proceeded to improvise fieldwork. I so wish I could reverse history to benefit from the practical, ethical, and theory-relevant apprenticeship offered in Perrino and Pritzker’s extraordinary Research Methods in Linguistic Anthropology.
