This work aims to present the development and the results of the analytical and experimental study of a prototype of an experimentally developed direct current motor. This motor has as principle of motor action, the repulsive forces between magnets or electromagnets. It had as fundamental basis for analysis of the forces, field and torque acting on the rotor the laws of magnetostatics, such as Ampére's Law and Biot Savart's Law, in addition to concepts related to the operating principle of a DC motor. For modeling the experiment we used the SketchUp software, a tool that allows the construction of geometric models, physical models and finally, a prototype, allowing to give a strategic positioning the coils, rotor and stator, having as main objective of the modeling, present an experiment with characteristics of an electric motor and that its structure has similarity with the examples made in textbooks. In the construction of the prototype, low-cost elements were used, taking advantage of discarded equipment components.
