Since decades, women and girls have struggled to access some jobs and positions competing in a dire cultural and hostile context. The perception of local people has been containing some discrimination germs which indicated that a proactive sensitization is still needed at root level. In Africa, the DR Congo has not escaped from this issue, especially in its eastern side, the North Kivu province where girls and women continue to compete for overruling with men and boys. This study investigated 112 interviewees and 70 people (62, 5%) confirmed that girls are not represented in institutions. Key challenges include violence (1.8%), the under estimation (32.14%), corruption (1.8%) prostitution (6.3%), lack of studies (8%), lack of confidence (10.7%), lack of willingness from girls and women, (neglect) and motivation (16.1%), discrimination (17.9%), tribalism (1.8%), and lack of information on leadership (4.5%). Self-confidence, equity, justice and enhanced education need to be developed a good representation of women and girls in provincial institutions in the future.
