About the author
Marja Baeten is a jack-of-many-trades. She started her career at Malmberg Publishing as an editor of the educative magazines Okki and Taptoe. As a freelance copywriter she worked for, among other things, the popular Dutch TV programs Sesame Street and Klokhuis; she wrote short stories that later became picture books, and she wrote various teaching methods for primary education. From 2000 Marja became an editor of the children's magazines PIPPO and POMPOEN, and in 2005 she started developing a toddler magazine for the World Wildlife Fund called PipaPanda. The content of this magazine later became the source of inspiration for a series of compilations about wild animals.

Gertie illustrates children's books, picture books, and magazines, and she illustrated for the famous Dutch TV-program Sesame Street. Best known are the books about Hare.
