About the author

Andrew Heywood was Vice Principal of Croydon College, UK, having previously been Director of Studies at Orpington College, UK, and Head of Politics at Farnborough Sixth-Form College, UK.Kathy Schindler has been teaching Politics for over 30 years, working in a large comprehensive school in London for much of that time. Kathy is part of the Senior Examination Team for a large exam board and was involved in the development of the 2017 Politics specification. Kathy is also one of the exam board's Politics Subject Specialists and has led many training sessions for them around the country, helping teachers to deliver the specification, as well as supporting individual politics teachers and departments and holding student revision conferences in schools. Kathy has also written the Essentials of Political Ideas, published by Bloomsbury, and textbooks published by Pearson.Adam Tomes has been teaching since the year 2000, working at York College, a large Further Education College, for most of that time. Adam has taught History, Philosophy and Politics at A level with the majority of his teaching experience in Politics, the subject that is closest to his heart. Adam is a strong advocate for Politics A-Level, hoping to see it grow across the education sector and really engage and enthuse students. Adam has held a range of roles as an examiner and trainer for a large exam board whilst also co-authoring a number of textbooks.
