Sporting a bright yellow plume on the top of his head, Plume is bored of black and white, of shuffling around and snoozing on icebergs. He much prefers to cook, read, knit and sky dive. He craves colour, adventure, excitement! He wants to seize the world he's discovered in the books of his fantastical, glacier library (the largest in the Southern Hemisphere). Plume's great hope is to grow the hearts and minds of his penguin friends.
About the author
Tania McCartney is a book creator. She has made well over 50 books for children and adults, and has illustrated, edited and designed many of them, too. Her works have reached the hands of children in 20 countries around the globe, and have been shortlisted for an array of awards. A children's literacy ambassador, Tania spends her time reading, writing, drawing (and sometimes working) from her studio in Canberra, Australia. She has lived in France, England and China, and simply loves to travel. One day, Tania hopes to visit Antarctica, to pluck and browse at the world-famous Plume: World Explorer library. She'll travel, of course, on the Albatross Express.
