Libri Salomonis, taken from the Vetus Testamentum Graece, by the LXX translators, are written in ancient Greek. This book, pars I, containing Proverbia, Ecclesiastes, Canticum canticorum, is distinguished by careful typing and proofreading. Unlike scanned old books, which often reveal quite a large number of typing errors and even (partly) missing pages, this book is a reliable copy of the work. The reader may expect a profound knowledge of ancient Greek on the part of the academic copy typist and proofreader. The editor publishes these works without any omissions. This text is faithful to the edition by Valentinus Loch in 1886.

In gescannten alten Büchern finden sich oft viele Tippfehler und (teils) fehlende Seiten, während dieses Buch eine verlässliche Abschrift der Arbeit darstellt. Der Leser darf sich vom akademischen Typisten und Korrektor umfassende Kenntnisse des Altgriechischen erwarten. Der Herausgeber veröffentlicht diese Werke ohne Auslassungen. Dieser Text hält sich an die Ausgabe von Valentinus Loch im Jahr 1886.

LXX interpretes are the in fact 72 ancient Greek translators of the Old Testament. The editor Valentinus Loch, born on September 24, 1813 in Bamberg, Germany, was a Catholic theologian and priest. His main interest were the translation of the Bible; he also edited the Latin Vulgata and the ancient Greek Septuaginta. He died on June 14, 1893 in Bamberg.
