About the author

Xiuling Zhao, is Senior Researcher of Political Science, Institute of Political Sciences in CASS. Her research interest is rural governance and Chinese democracy politics. She has published “ancient village’s institutions and system in China”, “general theory of village autonomy in China” and many papers such as “micro-autonomy and grassroots democratic governance”and “deliberative democracy and modernization of rural governance in China”. “The wisdom of capital” won the second national youth outstanding achievement award.
