Raja Ram Mohan Roy's moral solemnity and energy, his strong determination, courageous thoughts and imagination as well as firm grasp of all the religious doctrines, his multilingual and humanitarian approach marked out Roy as a great educational meliorist and a builder of his Nation. So, it is worthwhile to call him as the predecessor of the modern system of education in India viz. Asia. According to him, every human being should have equal rights on education irrespective of class, creed, religion, age and gender, beyond the border of marginality. Ram Mohan Roy considered education as the prime necessity for the upliftment of Indian society.
