The present study was designed to investigate the anatomical and histological differences that found in the gastrointestinal tract GIT of three species of birds (black-shouldered kite Elanus caeruleus, Green-winged Teal Anas crecca, common Quail Coturnix coturnix) which a belonged to three different orders varied in their kinds of food and represent different modes of feeding habits.The anatomical studies revealed that the alimentary canal of teal was longer than those of kite and quail. And the proventriculus of kite was larger than those of other two species. The duodenum in the three studied birds formed single loop while the ileum exhibited much interference loops and internally provided with longitudinal folds, there was no diverticuli vateline.The present histological examination differences that found in the gastrointestinal tract GIT of three species of birds dependent of type of the food.It can be concluded that the differencese in food type of birds have obvious effect in histological structure of digestive tract, especially, thickness of digestive tract layers.
