As a Black woman who has explored cultural myths about Black female sexuality, this book presents a study in an under-researched area within human sexuality. This book provides insights for dismantling the prevailing myths regarding Black women and sexuality, specifically the "Jezebel" archetype, thus leading to an authentic understanding of Black female sexuality within the phenomena of the Swingers' Culture. This book discusses challenges and influences of the "Jezebel" myth, its slavery roots and the impact on Black female Swingers. Discussion of the myth on how Black women perceive their participation, inclusion and sense of equity; versus the challenges of historical trauma and invisibility created by the "Jezebel" in sexual performance and activity in the culture of Swinging.

About the author










Dr. Valerie Poppel, is a clinical sexologist, sex coach, motivatinal speaker and emotional management clinician who provides services and products to address sexual concerns and emotional management. She holds a Doctor Degree in Philosophy (The Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality) and a Law Degree (Rochelle University).
