NESTING OF BLUE ROCK PIGEON IN NILGIRIS - Nesting Ecology in Urban Environment in Nilgiris

The Domestic pigeon (Columba livia domestica) live and raise their young ones only in residential areas in the readymade carton or wooden boxes which are specially designed and constructed by their owners to fix on the terrace, windows, or trees. The domestic pigeons are raised for commercial, food, and hobby purposes. None of the studies was attempted in the Blue Rock Pigeon so for in the Nilgiris region. Hence this lacuna the present study was aimed to explore the nesting characteristics of Blue Rock pigeon in Ooty city of Udhagamandalm, The Nilgiris. The following objectives are carried out for the present study a) To find out the nesting Blue Rock Pigeon in of Ooty city in Udhagamandalam, The Nilgiris. b)To explore the different nesting platforms of Blue Rock Pigeon in Ooty city in Udhagamandalam, The Nilgiris c) To quantify the nesting parameter of Blue Rock Pigeon in of Ooty city in Udhagamandalam, The Nilgiris.
