Informationen zum Autor Tomo Cerovsek, PhD, is RICS Certified BIM Manager, Vice Head at the Department of Civil Engineering and Chair of Construction Informatics at the University of Ljubljana (UL), Slovenia. He mainly teaches BIM, engineering communication, descriptive geometry, digital design, process modelling, and concurrent engineering. As a guest professor at Dublin DIT he delivered modules BIM execution planning and project protocols, and Building Collaborative Technologies, and acts as a mentor in the Stanford PBL (Project Based Learning). He co-created and coordinates for UL the European Master in Building Information Modelling - BIM A+.In addition to his academic endeavors, he also leads cross-disciplinary BIM technology transfer delivering real-world BIM and digital pilot building projects that demonstrate best value-adding practices to investors and AEC stakeholders. He also works as international consultant for BIM, he is appointed expert for BIM FM - CAFM/CSMM integration, and asset management. He is a member of IEEE, CIB, LEED, technical committee for BIM standardization at CEN and ISO. Klappentext Offers readers a workable guide for successful implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in digitization of construction practice and built environmentThis book explains why and how the development and advancement of BIM is a key ingredient of digital construction with historic potential to transform the construction industry. The threefold framework (standardization, lifecycle and interoperability) with embedded systems thinking targets the advancements in digital construction. It guides readers to BIM proficiency and positive ROI by way of thorough understanding of key methodologies and challenges. The book facilitates comprehension by providing end-of-chapter body of knowledge reviews. Each chapter in BIM Cube: Information Management for Digital Construction begins with an introduction to the topic, followed by the [FACTS] structure: starting with [F] - Factual key that provides base definitions; [A] - Analysis of relevant states; related [C] - Causes and effects; which are all organized into a [T] - Taxonomies that define principles of classifications; and supplemented with [S] - Systems of process maps that illustrate the application of principles. The book offers a comprehensive coverage of: standardization in Information Management (IM); Business Process Improvement (BPI); project interaction (communication, coordination, collaboration); Digital Construction (DC); parametric design; technical features and business functions of BIM; BIM QA/QC; BIM technical due-diligence and value engineering; Project flow theory; Industry 4.0; Digital Twins (DT); technical, semantic and organizational interoperability.* Guides readers toward a gradual application of BIM that supports digital construction* Provides a generic set of process maps that succinctly explain concepts and standards* Gradually develops BIM proficiency along with a deep understanding of the challenges* Demonstrates key concepts for digital construction in a way that is vendor independent* Builds theories that support next generation of automation and control of project flows using systemic approach for the PIST (Process, Information, Stakeholders, Technologies)With BIM and digital concepts demonstrated in a tool-independent way using a structured set of process maps, BIM Cube is an excellent book for readers of every level. It will appeal to owner representatives, architects, engineers, construction managers, information and BIM managers, BIM coordinators, consultants, other relevant building project stakeholders, researchers in digital construction, AND to all prospective students of BIM courses.
