Every year, thousands of Senegalese migrants try to enter Europe, and especially France. Europe is tightening its border controls, but attracted by better living conditions and more job opportunities, migrants are willing to take the risk to migrate, sometimes at the cost of their life. Indeed, many of them choose to contact traffickers and travel across Africa and reach Europe by boat, but many lose their lives on the way. Furthermore, once in France, some of them become the preys of the traffickers and have to work for them to pay their debt. Moreover, many migrants have to live in illegality in France while trying to send remittances to their family back home, what makes their situation even more complex. However, even for legal migrants, the integration can be difficult as they sometimes have difficulties to find a job that corresponds to their qualifications and are sometimes discriminated and have unequal quality of life, what in the past years led to several strikes of workers and riots in the banlieues. Controlling migration between Senegal and France is a challenge that both countries have to face through a better cooperation and development.
