About the author

Mary Roberts is a writer, storyteller, real estate agent, and serial dog rescuer. As the owner of Side Porch Publishing, she helps people unpack their personal narratives and craft them into compelling stories to tell on stage, or to family and friends. 14 Dogs and Me--One Woman's Story of Never Saying No is her first book which she published at 71 years-old. Never give up is her motto and she plows ahead, regardless of her ignorance of social media, and her frustration with everyone who thinks their way is the best way to self-publish. Her journey with these 14 dogs began when was just a kid and discovered that she didn't stutter when she talked to the family dog. After that, there was no stopping her relentless and sometimes clueless attempt to build a canine family that didn't judge her. Along the way, she found her voice and got on stage to tell her personal stories and began writing after a 40-year hiatus. Now she is aiming to start a publishing cooperative for women over 50 who have something to say but need guidance, a lot of laughs, and a way through the wilderness of self-publishing. Interested? Holler at her.
