About the author

Carol is a career-regulator in the financial services arena who, based on her own experience with trauma, elected to pursue a late life degree in mental health. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She holds a Bachelor of Sciences from Wesley College in Business Administration, and a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health from Wilmington University. Carol was a student of her coauthor and they formed a friendship following graduation based on their shared interest in remaining abreast of peer-reviewed material in the behavioral sciences field. Carol has previously co-authored a book chapter in Using superheroes and villains in counseling and play therapy: A guide for mental health professionals, which was published in 2019 and edited by Lawrence C. Rubin.
