Reasons for writing this book entail many dimensions. The academic dimension of the researcher's interest revolves around the Albanian Diaspora in North America as an under-researched topic. Diaspora not only does it embrace Albanians (from Albanian spaces) economically, politically and spiritually, but it also managed to build a bridge between Albanian citizens and the World for whom the country longed for centuries. Above all, the process of shaping fluid identities was accomplished because of individual decisions of Albanians themselves, rather than a system's decision for such a process to happen. More than the economic push and pull factors, it was the need to explore and perhaps construct an identity, which made Albanians feel comfortable and connect to the world.
