The race towards the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) and their targets as well as Nigeria's race towards environmental sustainability are likely to be stalled as Nigeria's rich environmental resource base is being undermined by increasing deforestation (3.5% annually), erosion, floods, desertification, gas flaring and oil pollution. This book provides insight into the environmental degradation, vulnerability of the Niger Delta communities to climate change and its socio economic impacts on livelihoods. Okoh is a multidisciplinary Professional whose training in Economics (BSc. & MSc.) and Agricultural Economics (Ph.D) provides a synergy of knowledge and skills required for effective development research and practice.
