Hong Seung-Hye - Organic Geometry

Die 1959 in Seoul geborene Hong Seung-Hye nimmt dank ihrer formalen Kühnheit eine einzigartige Position in der koreanischen Kunstszene ein. Spielerisch bewegen sich ihre Arbeiten zwischen dem Abstrakten und dem Figurativen, der Fläche und dem Dreidimensionalen. Hong nutzt für die Installation ihrer Werke sowohl den öffentlichen Raum wie den klassischen White Cube.
Diese erste ausserhalb Koreas publizierte Monografie zeichnet die Entwicklung von Hongs reichem Oeuvre nach: von den frühesten Papiercollagen bis zu ihren neuesten Videoarbeiten, in denen Hong die Oeuvre Comicfigur Snoopy neu interpretiert. So bietet diese Anthologie mit über 200 Abbildungen eine umfassende Übersicht über die erstaunliche Vielfalt von Hong Seung-Hyes künstlerischem Werk.

lives and works in Seoul, where she also teaches as a professor in the Department of Fine Arts, Seoul National University of Science & Technology.

is an art critic and director of Seoul Museum of Art.

Eunah Park
is director of Kukje Gallery in Seoul.

Hwang In
is a Seoul-based art activist. He has curated exhibitions in South Korea and Japan and has initiated numerous projects at the interface of art, science, and technology.

Michael Lim
lives and works in Seoul as an art and design critic.

Yun Nanjie
is art historian teaching at the Department of Art History, Ehwa Womans University in Seoul.
