The shortage of health workers remains a serious worldwide concern. Human resources are among the scarce resources in psychiatric hospitals. In many countries, health workers have been expressing dissatisfaction in different ways including absenteeism, strikes, and turnover among others which affect the quality of care. Working in a neuropsychiatric hospital can be a very stressful job considering the situation of psychiatric patients and the poor working conditions in many African psychiatric hospitals. A number of factors and job elements contribute to job satisfaction when delivering mental health care.

Br. Mutabazi Michel holds a PhD from Kenyatta University, MPH from Moi University, MSc. And BSc. in Mathematics and Statistics from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Kenya. He is an MBA candidate in Rome. He has been a lecturer, formator and project coordinator. He is currently the General Bursar of the Brothers of Charity in Rome.
