This study examined the extent to which population growth influence sustainable management of solid waste in Cross River State, Nigeria. Based on the objectives of the study, five research questions and five null hypotheses guided the study. Literature review was done according to the variables under study. The study adopted ex-post facto research design. A sample of 573 community members residing in the six selected urban centres out of a population of 270,187 was used for the study. A questionnaire titled "Population Pressure and Sustainable Management of Solid Waste Questionnaire" (PPASMSWQ) was the instrument used for data collection. The result finally revealed that rural/urban migration had significant negative influence on sustainable management of solid waste in Cross River State. Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended among others that the government should make available adequate waste bins for people in their different locations in order to curb indiscriminate solid waste disposal for proper waste management.
