The book an introductory manual to the use of library introduces diverse areas in using the library effectively especially by a fresh library user - from history of libraries to the concept of the catalogue, from study skills to Information Communications Technology (ICT).The introductory chapter presents the timeless issue of history of libraries by tracing it from ancient societies. The types of libraries alongside the various reference materials held by these libraries have been expertly covered. More so, the very technical issues of library catalogue and classification have been presented in the simplest language for easy understanding by the reader. Again, a very clear insight has been presented on the issue of bibliographic citation and referencing which is a mandatory aspect of every research work. Information and Communication Technology as it affects the use of library has been presented with dexterity and practical sense. The introduction of a chapter on study skills is an indication of the author's understanding of the challenges of students, especially in tertiary institutions, today.
