-Amino carbonyl compounds are omnipresent in all living organisms, making their selective synthesis highly sought after. However, the synthesis of -amino amides, a subclass of -amino carbonyls, in the presence of other carbonyls is usually challenging, due to the required harsh conditions. Miran Lemmerer expands a novel chemoselective approach for the synthesis of these intriguing molecules together with Univ.-Prof. Dr. Nuno Maulide's team.
