The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) is the most honorable and consulted academic institution in the Chinese engineering science and technology community and the first pilot national high-end think tank. To provide better consultation regarding electronic information in development strategy research on engineering science and technology, innovation systems and their mechanisms, and integrating advantage resources, the CAE, Central Network Information Office, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and China Electronic Technology Corporation (CETC) jointly established China Electronics and Information Strategies (referred to as the center) in November 2015.

The center upholds a high-level, open and forward-looking development orientation and promotes theoretical research and applied research and provides policy consultation on global, comprehensive, strategically important and controversial topics in the development of electronic information engineering science and technology. The center highlights the excellence of the academicians of the CAE, as well as experts and scholars, and strives to build a first-class strategic think tank.
