This monograph is the first book in medical sociology that comprehensively describes the research conceptions of the co-founder of the European medical sociology, Professor Magdalena Sokolowska (1922-1989). Soko¿owskäs disciple and associate, elected national coordinator of European Society for Health and Medical Sociology in 1990, authored over 200 publications, including Beyond Medicine (2012), university professor of Lublin Medical University and UMCS.
