AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF ROBERT SALDENHARobert Saldenha was born in Port of Spain, and received his early education at Richmond Street Boys E.C. School and Woodbrook Government Secondary. Later he received a B.A. from the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad.He first started performing with Star Land Steel Orchestra, then Esso Tripoli Steel Orchestra when his family moved to St. James in Trinidad. He also performed with Pan Am North Stars Steel Orchestra before the band folded up, and was a founding member of 3rd Steel Orchestra.. At UWI, his Caribbean research project was entitled, "The Innovations of Anthony Williams (leader of Pan Am North Stars Steel Orchestra), and how they revolutionize the Steelband, Steelband music and Carnival.Presently he performs with Volume II Steelband in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
