About the author










Dr. Michael Kane is a tenured professor of criminal justice at West Virginia State University and lead faculty for the Songer Institute of Forensics and Criminal Justice Sciences. He also serves as a municipal court judge in Gilbert, West Virginia. He holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the Union Institute and
University in Ohio, a M.S. degree in Forensic Science from National University in California, and a B.A. degree in Law Enforcement from Pfeiffer University in North Carolina. Dr Kane is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. In addition, he has served in various criminal justice agencies throughout the United States as a police and corrections officer, correctional counselor, and served as the chief investigator for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in West Virginia. He currently resides in Charleston, West Virginia indulging in private studies of ancient Asian warfare and philosophy, pursuing the hero motif of the warrior-scholar.
