Farm machinery plays a prominent role in the world of agriculture in a wide range of ways. Farm machinery is any equipment that farmers use to till, plant, cultivate, harvest or feed crops, including tractors, plows, disks, planters, wagons and combines. There is an optimum time for performing critical farming operations such as planting and harvesting. Crop yields tend to be highest when these critical operations are done closest to the optimum time. Farmers with high-capacity machines can perform the critical operations quickly and thus accomplish them close to the optimum time. Mechanization can also improve the quality of farm operations. Dr.(Er.) Sanoj Kumar is presently working as Scientist in the Department of Agricultural Engineering at BIhar Agricultural College, Sabour. He has also served as Head of Department for more than 11 years. He has also been involved in various national/international projects. Currently he is P.I. of Farm Machine Testing Centre at BAU, Sabour.
