It is May 1906 when Edward Keane boards a passenger steamship headed for America where he hopes to begin a new chapter in his life. He meets a mysterious woman named Tindra Ericksson, who at fisrt appears sickly, but still quite attractive. The memory of her intoxicates him and he cannot rest until he can investigate her allure.

After a mysterious disappearance aboard ship, Edward encounters Tindra again, but she now appears much healthier and beautiful. By the time the voyage ends, Tindra has seduced Edward and transformed him into a vampire, damning him forever. With Tindra as his mentor and lover, they lived the dark life of feeding, killing, and avoiding a group of demon hunters called the Brotherhood.

Edward's life is torn apart when Tindra is taken by the ancient, evil vampire, Boris Dalca, her maker and former master. Edward is left to deal with crushing guilt and an increasing distaste for killing humans while he attempts to balance a vampire's life with that of a mortal businessman.

Far into the future, the illustrious ghost team led by Jack "The Rip" Taylor has finally eliminated the last of the zombies infected by the Necro virus since the beginning of the US Afghanistan war-except for Zboy, a dead child different than the rest. He brings Zboy back to a secret laboratory where a team of scientists are working frantically to find a vaccine for the Necro virus.

Edward, now a wealthy recluse, poses as his descendant and feeds only from his human common law wife. He has no idea that Dalca will eventually unfurl a dark plan that will include him and the walking dead.

Hybrid Z: Origins is the tale of one man's journey into a dark world after he falls in love with a beautiful woman and is turned into a vampire with an uncertain destiny.
