First of all, the goal of this research is to present a general overview of the sustainable waste management in Toluca, México. Then, this study, analyses the problem of regulations, policies and the application of law, and a lack of infrastructure investment as well. This document is supported by empirical evidence and information from literature review. The qualitative methodology match with the research process in order to find the accurate results and accomplish the objectives. The results shown data that the problem is growing in many aspects, legal, financial, environmental and technical. Finally, the solution of this situation is related to making effective and strong regulations, taxes and good investment in infrastructure.
