Clement C. Moore is considered the inventor of Christmas Eve. This poem was written in 1822 by Clement C. Moore for his six children. It was published the following year in the Troy New York Newspaper and it became an immediate best seller. Clement C. Moore was part of a very prestigious New York family, who owned the area that is now known as Chelsea.
