He is licensed psychotherapist, certified sex therapist and ESSM/EFS certified psycho-sexologist (ECPS). He is board member of the European Professional Association for Transgender Health (EPATH). Walter Pierre Bouman, MD PhD works as consultant in trans health care at the National Centre for Transgender Health in Nottingham, United Kingdom. He is a medical specialist and an accredited sexologist, academic and psychotherapist. His work and practice focus on hormone prescribing and providing psychological support, with a particular interest in the aging population. He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Transgender Health and President Elect of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
