About the author

Alice Bolstridge, Ph. D in English Literature from Oklahoma State University, has spent her professional life teaching literature and writing. In retirement, she advocates for peace and justice issues and teaches Senior Education classes as a volunteer.

Mother of 3 with 3 grandsons, Alice lives in Presque Isle, Maine, the far north of Maine near the Canadian border where night comes down at 4:00 PM in December, and where the shapes and rhythms of shadow and dark inspire dreams of flight into the long-day light of summer. At 79 years old she still experiments with the limits and possibilities of language to illuminate the depths and heights of human experience, to speak the unspeakable. She writes to listen; to pray and wonder; to explore the world; to pretend.
