Japanese Encephalitis is one of the vector borne diseases that is a major killer of U15 children in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in India. The country has an immunization for JE for children that includes an interferon 2a. The vaccine is known as JE2a. Studies have shown that the interferon is not effective. Similarly, the vaccine is also not 100% effective. However, there is no treatment for the disease. It is here that Homoeopathy comes in as an economical, effective and dependable method of treatment. The government of Andhra Pradesh state in India used a triad of homoeopathic medicines for JE which was found to be very effective. Similarly, the current book mentions another triad of Homoeopathic medicines for the region of Eastern Uttar Pradesh which is endemic to JE. The problem with JE is that it not only kills children but leaves them with residual paralysis and brain damage as well. The other issue is the issue of encephalitis syndrome out of which JE is the killer. There are no vaccines for the other forms of encephalitis. Homoeopathy addresses JE and all other types of Acute Encephalitis Syndromes as a safe, preventive & curative therapeutic approach.
