About the author
Dr. Shijie Liu is a Professor of bioprocess engineering at the State University of New York – College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF). He graduated from Chengdu University of Science and Technology (now Sichuan University) with a BSc. majored in Chemical Engineering. His PhD in Chemical Engineering was earned from University of Alberta. Dr. Liu has 30 years of experience in academia and 5 years of experience in industry. He is a fellow of AIChE, and published over 200 scholarly papers. Earned a spot on the prestigious Top 2% Most Influential Scientists list by Stanford University and Elsevier. Current active research areas include Stem Cells, Fermentation, Biomolecular Kinetics, Bioreactors, Design of Experiments (for Quality Control and Kinetic Analysis). Taught Biomolecular Kinetics, Biochemical Reaction Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering of Reactions, among other courses over the past 20 years.
