Spring Day is the day when the barren park across the street from Tilly's house transforms into a beautiful garden. Tilly and Macey love to watch each tree take turns to 'spring-out', but when one of Roger's pet grasshoppers is killed by Macey, they have to contend with him and his attempts to get even. While Roger learns the hard way that it's better to forgive than seek revenge, Tilly is confronted with her phobia of grasshoppers, and overcomes it in order to save the life of the Tuftling.
