About the author

Andreas Mayer is CNRS Senior Researcher at the Centre Alexandre Koyré and professor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris. He is the author of several books, most recently Sites of the Unconscious: Hypnosis and the Emergence of the Psychoanalytic Setting, also published by the University of Chicago Press.
