Sur le flanc nord de la Sardaigne, en face de la Méditerranée, à deux pas du village de Porto Cervo qui porte l'empreinte du génial Jacques Couëlle, elle vient de réaliser une villa qui est une ode à l'esprit du lieu comme matière première de l'architecture. Une oeuvre visionnaire, intemporelle qui prend place à côté des meilleures réalisations organiques et sensuelles de Frank Lloyd Wright, Paolo Soleri, Angelo Mangiarotti, John Lautner ou Le Corbusier.
Ici, l'architecte s'imprègne de la nostalgie des premiers temps, apprivoise les roches d'Arzachena, tantôt terrifiantes, tantôt enveloppantes comme une matrice nourricière ; invente des parcours où cousinent les failles impromptues et les terrasses et jardins clos ensoleillés ; élève des murailles sablées ; juxtapose les textures granuleuses, lisses ou en peau de pêche. La savante simplicité des détails s'allie aux chatoiements des carrelages et à l'or des illuminations nocturnes orchestrées par Davide Groppi qui associe magie et lumière. Une demeure d'aujourd'hui et de tous les temps.

Before falling in love with Paris, Stefania Stera was first haunted by the beauty of Rome and Venice. Simultaneously, Lucio Fontana introduced her to the mysteries of contemporary art.
On the northern flank of Sardinia facing the Mediterranean and just a few steps from the village of Porto Cervo, a setting marked by the astonishing Jacques Couëlle, she has recently completed a villa that is a hymn to the spirit of the place, echoing its surrounding primary materials. It is a visionary, timeless work that has earned its place next to the very best organic and sensual buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Paolo Soleri, Angelo Mangiarotti, John Lautner and Le Corbusier.
Here, the architect is imbued with the nostalgia of ancient times. Around Arzachena, she has tamed these rocks which might appear terrifying or which can envelop like a nurturing mould. She invents circuits that lead through to unexpected fault lines and enclosed sunlit terraces and gardens. She creates satin-finish walls and juxtaposes grainy, smooth and peach skin textures. The knowledgeable simplicity of the details allies with the shimmer of the tiling and the gold of the nighttime illuminations orchestrated by Davide Groppi who has successfully combined magic and light. It is a modern yet timeless residence.
