Many Governments the world over have realised the importance of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), to such an extent that they have resorted to highly fund the sector as it is a major player towards the development of National Economies. The Zimbabwean Government has also joined the developed countries and has a policy framework in place towards the nurturing of the SME sector as it is one of the major sector that creates employment to the youth and to the marginalized women in society. The SME sector in Zimbabwe has been adversely affected by the economic meltdown of 2008, which resulted in the closure of large organizations. SME organizations in Zimbabwe ended up resorting to the use of survival strategies in order to avoid extinction.
