Die bairische DJ-Kammeroper "gSALZn" beschreibt die Geschichte des Salzes bis zur Gegenwart: 250 Millionen Jahre Erdgeschichte in 90 Minuten. Von der Entstehung des Salzes über die tektonischen Veränderungen der Erde bis zum Bau der ersten modernen Pipeline der Welt, der Soleleitung von Bad Reichenhall nach Traunstein, und bis zum Umweltbewusstsein der Gegenwart spannt sich der Bogen. Das Bühnengeschehen bleibt bis zum dritten Akt radikal statisch, erst das kurze Auftreten der Menschheit in der jüngsten Weltgeschichte bringt sichtbare Bewegung ins Ende der Oper. Der DJ produziert die Musik nach Maßgabe der Partitur vor, präsentiert sie live und "dirigiert" lebende wie nicht lebende Akteure. Die Musik verbindet Elemente aus Rave, Klassik und experimenteller elektronischer Musik. // The Bavarian DJ chamber opera "gSALZn" ("salted") tells the story of salt up to the present day: 250 million years of Earth's history in 90 minutes, going from the origin of salt via the tectonic changes of the earth to the construction of the first modern pipeline of the world, the brine pipeline from Bad Reichenhall to Traunstein, and to the environmental awareness of our time. The events on stage stay radically static up to third act: only at the end of the opera, human kind appears. The DJ pre-produces the music according to the score, presents it live and "conducts" the living and the non-living actors. The music combines elements from rave, classic, and experimental electronic music. All lyrics in Bavarian.

Josef Wittmann (Libretto), geboren 1950 in München, lebt seit 1977 in Tittmoning. Er ist Mitglied im Verband Deutscher Schriftsteller, bei den Münchner Turmschreibern, den Chiemgau-Autoren und im Internationalen Dialektinstitut. Als Lyriker schreibt er vorwiegend in bairischer Mundart. Bisher sind acht Gedichtbände erschienen, von "kuacha & kafä" (1972) bis zum Hörbuch "Kraah Gickerl kraah kraah" (2014) im Dialekt, "Kleinstadt" (2015) in Schriftdeutsch. Er übersetzt amerikanische Lyrik ins Deutsche, verfasst Satiren, Theaterstücke und Kabarett-Texte sowie Beiträge für viele Anthologien, zuletzt für "Vastehst me" und "Bairisches Poeticum", beide 2014. Als Buchillustrator gestaltete er u.a. Felix Hoerburger "Neueste Nachrichten aus der schnubiglputanischen Provinz".

Josef Wittmann (libretto), born in Munich 1950, lives in Tittmoning since 1977. He is a member of the German writers' association (VS), of the regional associations "Münchner Turmschreiber" and "Chiemgau-Autoren", and in the International Dialect Institute (IDI). Most of his poems are written in Bavarian dialect. Eight books have been published, from "kuacha & kafä" (1972) to "kraah, Gickerl, kraah" (2014) and "Kleinstadt" (2015) - the latter in regular German. He translated American poetry into German and wrote stage-plays and satirical revues. Numerous poems were published in anthologies, the latest being "Vastehst me" and "Bairisches Poeticum", both in 2014. As illustrator he designed among others Felix Hoerburger's "Neueste Nachrichten aus der schnubiglputanischen Provinz".
