About the author

Vanessa Ratten is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Department of Management, La Trobe Business School at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. She teaches entrepreneurial business planning, managing innovation in organizations and entrepreneurship. She has previously been on the business faculty of Duquesne University, the University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology and Deakin University. She is an established resercher and author in the field of entrepreneurship and won a Vice Chancellors award for community engagement with innovation and entrepreneurship programs.

Summary

Explores the role sport plays in society, and demonstrates how social enterprise can both address some of the negative social outcomes of sport and support businesses in sport as they develop their social objectives.
