The present study aims at evaluating Jordanian translators' ability to translate Algerian folk Sayings into English. It also tries to define the weaknesses and to propose solutions by administering a questionnaire for two groups one of them is non-oriented while the other is oriented. The comparison between the obtained results will shed some light on the reality of folk sayings in the Arab world.

About the author










Oudainia Borhane is a lecturer at the Institut de Traduction at Algiers University 2. He is also an Arabic, French, and English freelance interpreter. His research interests focus on the role of the translator of the novel, both as a reader and a mediator, in the crossroads of semiotics and hermeneutics.
